l Sentences which expresses a command or order, request or advice is called Imperative sentences. l A sentence which asks question is called Interrogative sentence. l A sentence which makes a statement is called Assertive or Declarative sentence. l There are five kinds of sentences: Assertive/Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, Optative and Exclamatory. It gives enough information for a person to form a complete idea in his mind of the message that is being communicated to him. SUM UP l A sentence is a group of words that is used to say something, to ask something, or to tell somebody to do something. Practice Time Change the following sentences into questions: 1. ? Interrogative sentences can also with Interrogative Pronouns, Interrogatives Adjectives or Interrogative adverbs, such as who, which, whose, whom, to whom, when, what, with what, whose, where, why, how, etc.
